GILA RIVER DATA CENTER
The Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) is a 372,000-acre reservation located in Central Arizona in Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Their Management Information System (MIS) Data Center is a much-needed building for the Information Technology Department for the Gila River Indian Community and all departments and government located on the Gila River Indian Community.
PLANNET, as the General Contractor, was chosen to perform pre-construction and build the new data center and administration buildings. In collaboration with the architect, PlanNet lead the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) effort, using Revit/Navisworks as well as a collaboration tool called Veo. The project also included the decommissioning of the existing IT rooms and migration of the current IT equipment and data to the new centralized location.
In addition, the new greenfield data center facility was designed and constructed to meet the current and future IT needs of the GRIC government for the next 25 years.
