MNLA DATA CENTER

One of the largest telecommunications providers in the world wanted to move as fast as possible to bring its new data center online to serve the client’s needs in the region. The primary project driver was to achieve a fast-track design and construction process. This fast-track six-month schedule began with greenfield construction, including commissioning and delivery of a fully functional data center.

While fast–track delivery was important, attaining a data center that met reliability, scalability, and functional goals was equally important. PLANNET was hired to help conceptualize, design, and construct the new data center.

Based on the results of a detailed analysis of the business, the team decided a Tier 3 facility best suited their needs with full concurrent maintainability as the main design parameter.

In addition, the design and construction were pre-formed so that once the project’s first phase was completed, the critical infrastructure could be expanded by 100% without disrupting the data centers’ operation. Further, a mirror of the shell was planned, allowing for a doubling of the raised floor and facility infrastructure.

The new data center, which supports an antenna and media hub, was designed to meet high Tier standards with power and cooling infrastructure. The facility will scale over its life cycle to carry as much as eight times the initial load. This combination of reliability and scalability allows this telecom provider to meet and exceed its customer’s needs now and well into the future.
